Ingedient research

Question

Dear Rabbi Abadi - What is your method for researching product ingredients in a chain such as Starbucks or Subway, or a product sold in stores? Do you ask in a store for packaging, or contact the headquarters, or what? How do you know if it is reliable, or if they make a change? I ask because I would like to be able to research products in other chains not mentioned on this site. Thanks, - Ben

It is hard to give blanket rules. Every type product is different. For example, a store that sell meat or cheese products would be harder than chains like Starbucks that barely have non-kosher items in their stores. Do some checking and then email me your info and I will glady show you the tricks of the trade. It is all real basic logic, but when you start, you need to get a little direction. If only I had the time to put a whole training booklet out. This could make everyone's life easier. I will try. AA
