Question

Someone told me that it's assur because American law is not in accord with Torah law and you could sit on a jury that decides someone is guilty even though a Beit Din would rule otherwise, or you could levy a punsihment or monetary penalty not in accord with Torah law.

I'm more worried about the ones sitting as a judge in a Beit Din (Jewish Court) today. There is a lot more distortion of the law going on there! AA
