kashering a pot

Question

I have an Eino ben yomo dairy pot (metal) that I used to cook meat in. I just kasher it using hagala or steam it up and it becomes kosher parve again? You mentioned before that ceramic dishes that crack or chip can cause kashrut problems. What are they? should I throw away ceramic dishes that chip? thanks, Tammi

Exactly! Yes, if it chips in the area where you put the food. It's also a safety issue. But then again if it's used as a Keli Sheni, you never have a problem. AA
