Kashrut Organizations
Question
Rabbi, You repeatedly in this forum have more than maligned various kashrut organisations as being inept, non halachik or worse, practicing "business as usual", specifically saying that in the kashrut/hechsher "business", policy is often dictated almost solely by profit - could you perhaps give specfic examples of this ? Although i suspect you might answer that it is painfuly obvious to all in the know, many of us, myself included are totally unaware of the problems you reffered to. so if you could supply us with specific and detailed examples of the problems, i would be much satisfied. thank you Rabbi. mechilah.

Answered by Aaron AbadiFive quick examples..... 1) Tide Detergent with a Hechsher?! 2) Spring Water?! 3) Dairy on the product that has no dairy. 4) Bugs in vegetables for over ten years, before admitting that it's a problem. (still not completely adhered to) 5) Ignoring the concept of Gevinat Akum for years and now only adhering to it on hard cheeses, quoting Rav Moshe Feinstein on something that if you read it inside, he clearly says NOT to rely on this Heter. There's a thousand more, but I'll let you go for a while with your eyes open and find them yourself. AA
