kitniyot for ashkenazim

I am an ashkenazi who recently made aliyaa laaretz. Can I change my minhag regarding kitniyot on pesach, to what seems to me to be the minhag hamakom permitting kitniyot on pesach?

Who is the Rav that you normally follow? If you commit to a Rav permanently, you should logically be able to follow his Minhagim. Of course, you should not be choosing a Rav specifically by the Minhagim you'd like to have. AA
