Koshering

Question

In most of the kashrut discussions it seems people are asking regarding Passover. Are the rules the same for all koshering? In other words if a non kosher restaurant is selling their used silverware and wine corkers, can they be koshered using the same methods as discussed for Passover, or do they not even need to be koshered because they were used for cold foods?

If you're sure the item was only used for cold, it doesn't need koshering. It just needs to be Toiveled in a Mikva. If not, the same laws of koshering apply CYA
