koshering pots

Question

pots that are normally used on the stove to cook food (with liquids) or pots or utenslis that you normally do iruy kli rishon onto can be koshered by hagala. Can you just put them in the oven on a high setting(if this is easier) instead since libun kal is a better form ok koshering than hagala? thanks
