Lashon Hara

Question

My copy of the Pesah book in question (from a few years ago) has a long introduction from the author in which he attacks all the yeshivot for having their dinners in hotels where the kitchens have to be kashered. He claims that this is not real kashrus. This strikes me as an example of lashon hara against all the great yeshivot. As for why his book has become popular, it is because of deep-rooted psychological needs to do more and more, since for many people, following what the halakhah says is not enough. They don't feel it's Pesah unless they actually sterilize the home. By the way, when this book first came out someone showed it to R. Romm z"l, one of the Roshe Yeshiva at YU (who studied in the the Mir in Europe and Shang Hai). When he saw one of the crazy things -- I believe it was rat poison as chametz -- he said, "Tell this mechaber in my name, that I say he is an am ha-aretz"!
