Laundry on Chol HaMoed

Question

I live in New York year round. I traveled to my parents house on the West Coast for Pesach. I am leaving right after the holiday on Sunday night. I was wondering if I could do my dirty laundry on Chol HaMoed since it is free and there is no time to do it after the holiday. In New York it costs about $17 so is this considered a Davar Aved?
