Meat vs. Dairy

Question

During the day I generally stay away from meat because I like to drink Lattes. Sometimes when I'm cooking for dinner, generally a meat meal, I forget and take a taste of the food and then continue drinking my coffee. Is there a rule about such a circumstance?
