Medical Rotations on Shabbat

Question

Can a medical student work during on Shabbat during his clinical rotations if the institution requires him to do so? What if he avoids writing on any kind? If not, does the fact that he may get into serious trouble with the institution make a difference?

A question like this needs to be done with a Rav in person. People who write on Shabbat or drive on Shabbat insituations that are not approved by Halachah are considered "Mumar," and have serious consequences. It is therefore important to get all the rules real clear. AA
