"metamucil is not made from any of the 5 grains and is OK, and highly recommended." It seems from the question that he's talking about the first days-yomtov. Howver, you wrote by shabbos that metamucil is Assur because of refuah. So is your reponse only applicable to chol hamoed or is the halacha different by yomtov.

Answered by Chaim Yisrael Abadimedicine is muttar on the second day Yom Tov and in some circumstances even on Shabbos & 1st day Yom Tov. It also is not assur to use on Pesach. CYA
