Milk

Question

On the Halakha site you pasken that milk supervised by the FDA (or something similar) does not have the problem of Halav Akum. Are you basing this psak on the Teshuvot of Rav Moshe Feinstein? What about another method of being lenient which is Ein b'edro tamei (no impure animals in the flock.) The Pri Chadash quoting the Radvaz paskens this explicitly. Yet, many poskim (ie. hatam sofer) rejec this Pri Chadash. I was wondering if you could comment on the nature of the authority of a psak that seems logical based on the Gemara and Rishonim, but gets rejected by later poskim?

This site follows the Halachic decisions of Rabbi Yitzchak Abadi. Please see the "about us" section. It depends. It isn't that type of a science. AA
