Question

My mother (a chumra shopper) is always telling me how important it is not to break a minhag. How do I decipher an authentic minhag over a minhag someone’s Bubba Shprintza invented? Is a list of of real minhagim too extensive to list? As usual thanks for your time.

The Shulchan Aruch brings the real ones. Anything thereafter needs to be confirmed. If we kept every Minhag (custom) to date, we'd be busy with them 24/7, as I assume your mother is doing. If you have specific ones to confirm, just post them.... AA
