Correct me please, K'vod Ha'Rav, but do we proselyze here? 2."The Ramban wanted to defend the positions of the Rif against the attacks of the Ba'al haMaor, but he didn't just say "the Rif paskened the way he did, so don't give me lomdus." Please note that the "contestants" were of equal caliber, at least as far as we are concerned. Do you really think that those posting their differences here are even remotely peers of Rabbi Abadi? Here it is: Izzy Berkowitz" I was never in Lakewood & dont know what went on . But one thing is for sure Thsi Rav Abadi is a big leftist & it is the best thing that he did by leaving. In the world of Poskim he is not accepted & not ever mentioned. & if you look at his website THe so called Shalos that he gets are silly & stupid questions they are from people who know very little about Yiddishkeith. the bottom line is his leaving was a blessing in disguies. I only wonder if he got his English education in the "Lakewood Cheder" Anyway, this just underscores your reply, Rabbi. On a personal note, I would like to relate this experience I had with Rabbi Scheinberg. We moved to Israel in 1994, primarily to be able to spend more time with my Rebbe, Rav Abadi, (I hope I'm not embarassing him), and out of desperation my wife and another man decided to open an elementary school that would cater to American children and also teach secular subjects, ie English, Math, etc. Rav Scheinberg was approached by my wife's "partner" to request a "haskomoh" for this endeavor. He replied that he was all in favor of this. But when pressed for a written letter he refused. His son later told us "please don't pester my father. The last time he wrote a public letter for a similar school, a brick was thrown through his window". I have another amazing story relating your father but, that brings out your point of "instant talmidei chachomim" but I'm getting a bit long here. LYA
