Missionaries in Jewish School

Question

There is an organization called Derech Emes that has been established to fight missionaries that prey upon our people. They are based in NY and will be happy to tell you some horror stories about missionaries who prey on observant Jews. EVERYWHERE! The following have been my own personal experiences that I have had with children in the local yeshivot and in the local community: We had a couple of young Christian missionaries in our local pizza shop, Jerusalem in Hollywood, one named Richard was hired to be the mashgiah! They dressed like observant Jews and applied for jobs. No one checked them out, until someone protested that one of them didn't seem right. A background check connected them to the local evangelical church. (one of the boys was the son of the pastor). We had a bonafide Southern Baptist (she was honest when she was hired and they thought it would be a "good idea" because she "shared our values" ) as the principle of secular studies at the Mesivta here in Miami Beach, her name was Mrs. Martin. She also hired another teacher. They worked in the school for years before anyone believed what they were doing. We have had two Rabbis in the Magen David Sephardic Jewish Center, the first was Rabbi Ariel who is now the director of a J for J "yeshiva" in the Midwest, and a Rabbi Betesh who turned out to be a missionary. He went to the Kabbalah Learning center after he was fired and is now the director of a "kiruv organization". We had a woman named Heidi who was volunteering on the Chevra Kadisha, she was a Hispanic non Jew who had everyone fooled. She was baptizing the deceased. Then there were the two teachers at the Beis Yaakov about 4 years ago. One was math and the other was science. The math teacher was feeding the children her homemade Christmas cookies and teaching them about Advent. The science teacher was teaching evolution to "prove the that Torah was not true". She then went on to "prove that no one can actually live as an observant Jew because it is impossible to keep everything". Therefore the Rabbis are leading you to certain eternal doom unless you are one of the few who can keep everything. Therefore your only way out is if Moshiah comes, what if he already came?? She had about half a dozen girls hooked on her love and friendship. (No she was not a Lubavitcher). The girls were also reading the "Celestine Prophecy" as part of their science curriculum and no one in the school noticed. The Chabad school hired a teacher who had the fourth graders reading CS Lewis (he was a Christian minister who wrote "faith building books"). These are just the particular instances in which I was personally aware of because of children in schools etc. I did not mention the missionaries that hang outside of the Young Israel hoping to "talk to the kids who are not inside with their parents". Or the maids and babysitters. Or the woman who was driving my grandmother who "took her into the church" on the way to Shop Rite. If you look for it, you will see it EVERYWHERE, tragically. They are very sophisticated, very organized, very educated and very very well funded.
