Question

Thank you for the last reply. That helps a bit. I asked a fairly prominent rabbi in one of the kashrut organisations rabbi about what you said that if one know ths ingrediants one does not need a hechsher - he did not think it was correct - one reason he said was becasue they add at times releasing agents on top of the product that does not mix with th eproduct so that it is not batel [it sits on top as a glossy treif!]....also at times for ashkenazim where we say chanan even for non basar bechalav so it could be that a product will require 60 times the new assur compound and you often dont have that - all things one can NOT tell without a hechsher or a certifying organisation. What would the rabbi reply ? Thank you. I also spoke with another [non organisational rabbi] who said that the product going througfh various machines would not be batel if there was some treif additive added to the machine to help the product go through smoothly because we would consdider the machine lke a stam kli that would not be large enough ot=r thin enough walls for the treif part to be batel
