Question

Why would learning mythology be considered "Avodah Zorah"? They are stories that no one believes to be true in any way. It is taught nowadays to a. teach the style of literature either in the original or trying to do the same in translation b. learn about the culture of the time in which it was written or even c. there are other themes and ideas one can learn irregardless of the possible original intent of these stories which may or may not be "religious" in nature. Thank You

....and what about most of the "frum" schools teaching the theory of evolution as a required course? I prefer that they teach Islam, at least the God is the same. AA
