Netilat Yadaim

Question

Kavod Harav: May one wash hands in the bathroom sink (without "having gone" to the bathroom first - I know there are special rules for this), dry them outside the bathroom, and then recite the netilat yadaim bracha before making Hamotzi? Or, does the fact that one is washing in the bathroom make the washing become void or nullified for purposes of Hamotzi? Todah.
