New kosher dishes

Question

I recently bought a kitchen aid mixer, when I opened the box (looked like it was opened before) I looked at the mixer and it didn't seem flawless. It got me thinking. How can one know that his "new" appliances were not previously used then returned. I know its not such an issue by this mixer but what about by a Foreman or a pannini maker?

You're right, but since it is not Ben Yomo, it doesn't affect you. A majority are certainly never touched. Besides if you are not sure, turn it on while empty for 10 Minutes and you've Kashered it. Good question! AA
