New to the board
Question
Rabbi- I was introduced to this board by your neice in Monsey and I must say that I am THRILLED to finally find a Rav who isn't afraid to go against popular opinion in favor of Hashem's torah! My questions are these: 1. I agree with your pasak about Cheese in general- but it would be very dramatic for me to hold this way outside of my own home- thus- would it be acceptable to keep only cheese that is "chalov Yisroel" in the house but to eat by family and friends cheese that is OUD? I guess what I am asking is how to handle the "shalom Bayit" issues that will arise from this. 2. I understand and have always felt (although I was too nervous to put it into practice) that fish should be fine from a place like Costco- the problem is- after being on this site I was gun ho to go out and buy all the fish I found but I am now having some remorse about the prospect of serving guests who might not think that what I'm doing is acceptable- do I have a chiyuv to tell a guest who I feel might be "turned off" to where I purchased fish where it is from? 3. Isn't it an inyin of Maras Iyin to buy baked goods that have kosher ingredients from a "non-Jewish" store? Thank you so much and I look forward to learning more of your torah! Ezra K.
