Onions
Question
This actually happened, what to do? If a person sliced onions with a milchig knife, and then placed the onions into a food processor for further processing, and eventually used the onions in preparing a fleishig meal, has any issue regarding tarfus occured? Because onions, and the like, are a davar charif, would one be required to have separate food processors in order to avoid any question of treif?
Answer
Answered by Aaron Abadiif the onions are in the fleishig food then it is no good, but if it is in a pareve food that you are eating with fleishig, then you can eat it. The food processor does not become dairy. You do not need two food processors because it is always used for kli sheni. CYA This contradicts what AA has written on numerous occasions, that onions are not a davar charif. Please clarify.
