Onions

Question

I cut raw onions with a meat knife and put them in a parve soup that I cooked in a dairy pot. Is the soup taref? Thanks so much!

I assume that this meat knife was not used to cut meat directly on the fire, within the last 24 hours. Usually meat is cut when it is cold. Then it is ok. AA
