ovens & eating at relatives

Question

Shalom Larav, My questions are as follows -but first, Thank you VERY much for access to you and your TIME and EFFORT spent for the klal. What is the status of ovens ? i mean if i cooked a steak in an oven and then an open pot of parve soup -is the soup fleishig ? if i usually use the oven for fleishig [with open utensils] and i put in an open pot of rice,[alone], does it become fleishig ? does it depend iof the oven is clean or has stuff stuck to the ceiling ? why isnt the subsequent usage every time considered libun to burn the previous stuff ? on another note - i have a well meaning but uneducated [jewishly] israeli aunt who married a r reform american jew and she grew up in a frum household but left home at age 15 so doesnt really understand the hows of kashrut but knows what to do and not to do and what to buy -if she invites me, can i eat her cooked food if she says its all kosher ? what about the oven -did it need a special kashering ? her plates, glass, china ? cutlery ? can i believe her ? what if she says that she ordered from a kosher pplace and is just serving it in her dishes ? or if she says she reheated the stuff she ordered out ? im sorry for the long list but thank you.

The oven should be kept reasonably clean for health reasons & Kashrut. Then you can use it for meat & dairy & Pareve & even Treif. If they are not put in at the same time, you are OK. If the food that you are eating is Kosher, like bread & vegetables & tuna, and the only issue is Keilim, don't worry about it. Just the glass & utensils should be Toveled or use plastic. If she serves something on a non-toveled glass plate, you can still eat it. You are not required to remove it onto a plastic plate. AA
