Pants follow-up
Question
Kavod HaRav- I wasn't sure I understood 100% correctly...did Rav Abadi say if you live in a place that accepts pants, you may wear pants? Does that mean that the only aspect wrong with wearing pants has to do with the Minhag HaMakom, and no matter of tzniut (with regard to a split in the pants)? Thank you for your time.
Answer
Answered by Aaron AbadiThe concept that pants for women falls under the Issur (prohibition) of wearing men's clothes (Lo Tilbash) is a myth and a bit silly. Laws of Tzniut require skirts, dresses, and pants to be modest (Tzanuah). You all know what that means. If the community does not accept pants on women, then don't do it. In a community that it is accepted it is better to wear pants that covers the whole leg than a dress or skirt to the knee. AA
