Pidyon Haben Coins

Question

I bought a specially designed set of silver coins for my son's upcoming pidyon haben. Each coin is individually encased in a thin, clear plastic container to prevent the silver coin from tarnishing. Must I take the each coin out of its air-tight container when handing them to the kohen, or may I leave them encased ? Thank you.
