Question

Are we supposed to take the Adam and Eve story literally? Was there really a talking snake and a fruit tree, or is this all a parable of some sort?

On the first day God created light, and what did he do the rest of the day?! On the second day he spoke and created the sky, and what did he do the rest of the day?! and so on... To just leave it at that, wouldn't be proper. Look at the Ohr HaChaim Perek #3 Pasuk #1 on the words, "Vayomer El Ha'Esha." But in reality, it will take an enormous amount of learning within these issues to truly understand Parshat Bereishit. AA
