Question
Rabbi, In reading several of your responses in the Q&A section, I have found that some of them differ from those of other rabbis in the United States and in other parts of the world. I am puzzled about such differences in halachic rulings. Is it because: 1) your father knows halacha and its applications better than other rabbis? 2) other rabbis go beyond the law and are stricter than necessary while your father is not? 3) there is no clear answer to many issues and your father may be stricter or at times more leninent than other rabbis concerning different rulings? I believe that these questions are at the very heart of what you and your family intend to do here. I applaud your efforts.
Answer
Answered by Aaron AbadiThis has been a common accurance since the days of Hillel & Shammai (a little over 2,000 years ago). Number 1 & 2 are common, unfortunately. Number 3 I could not understand. AA
