Question
1. Can you tell us something about the Rabbi's kollel, e. g., how many student there are, what they are studyig this year etc.? 2. Why doesn't Rabbi Abadi send Torah articles to the various journals and year books. For example, I have been told that Techumin would love to publish some of his material, especially relating to technology (such as silk screen sefer Torah, showers on Shabbat etc.)

Answered by Aaron Abadi1) The Kollel has been in Lakewood, NJ, since about 1979. It moved to Israel, to Har Nof in Yerushalayim, about 9 or ten years ago. My father usually has between 7 to about 15 or 16 select students that can handle advanced learning and can keep a strict schedule. Not like the Kollel that we have come to be familiar with. The starting at 10 or 11AM. A wedding kills 2 or 3 days. Chanuka is off, because we need to light candles smack in the middle of 2nd Seder. If any of our secretaries came 15 minutes late three days in a row, they would be out looking for another job. In my father's Kollel, the start time is the start time. No weddings, no Bar Mitzvot till after Seder. No games, no sitting on the same page for days. You are expected to accomplish and put in the real efforts. This should not be for the people that don't have their own motivation and strength. It's only for advanced potential Talmidei Chachamim. The Rambam was very against Kollel, while most of the others disagreed. But how can the Rambam be against Kollel, when he himself was supported. The answer is simple. He was against the disaster that we see today. He was for the real thing. Think about it. Work on it. You'll get a whole different prespective on Judaism. 2) I don't know what Techumin is.
