Question

hacham, why must one choose one rabbi and live by his word as opposed to following the most lenient opnion in every situation ,

The real system is to have one Posek in each city. Everyone there must follow him. We've become a multiPosek society today. The Gemara says that one who takes the Kulas (lenient opinion) from one and the Kulas from the other is a Rasha. It's also common sense. AA
