radio left on shabbos

can one leave the radio on shabbos for the news especially after 9-11?Its important to know whats happening for safety purposes.

Answered by Chaim Yisrael AbadiYes, if you live near a place where there is an active danger, ie. hurricane watch, nuclear reactor leak, forest fire, etc. It needs to be a real active threat for where you are, not a possible threat. CYA
