Ralbag hechsher

Question

I noticed a post where you responded "Rabbi Ralbag is at least as good as the OU." This surprised me, but I am open to expanding my horizons. What exactly are the differences in parameters between these two organizations? As an aside, I am curious why the Ralbag hechsher gets so little respect. Thanks. I enjoy your site.

I wish I knew what the Kashrut Mafia has against Rabbi Ralbag. He seems to be an observant Jew. He keeps Shabbat and the Mitzvot. All his certification is saying is, no lard in this. What are we afraid of? Could it be that he stepped on someone's turf?! In my other life, I'm a garbageman (Not on the back of a truck). I know this type of industry very well. AA
