re batel b`rov
Question
Dear Rav Dear Rav, Is there any halachic basis in the claim that something cannot be batel b`rov if you can clearly taste it? Many thanks for everything, Martin
Answer
Answered by Chaim Yisrael AbadiHUH? you're joking? That's the reason for Shishim, because we don't depend on a Gentile chef tasting the food. So, we just say Shishim, because we know that there will be no taste then. In Issur V'Heter there is batel B'rov by same tasting foods and not by different tasting foods, but here on Pesach it is not said. CYA No, I`m not joking. For example, despite my protestations, nobody will permit regular Coke on Pesach to Ashkenazim, because of the taste of Kitnyos( however dubious the kitnyos really is). What are they not seeing, regarding Pesach, or why is Pesach different from all other nights :-) Thanks, Martin
