re: Costco Chocolate Chips

Question

Hi, You recently mentioned the chocolate chips by costco were parev, despite the OUD. I asked the OU the same question, and they said that they are parev, but made on milky equipment. They said that you cannot have it with meat products but otherwise are fully parev. Why do they say that - do we need to be concerned for the equipment the produce was made on?
