Still needs research, both from a Halachic standpoint and to properly understand the science behind it, and what exactly happens when you flick a switch.... This has been an ongoing questions since the days of Benjamin Franklin... Is it De'Oraita (a transgression of a Torah Law), or is it Derabanan (a Rabbinical Law). What is it exactly? That is the big question. Many like to say, "Oh! It is real fire." If that is the case, can I use it by Havdallah? Also, why when I touch an electric alarm clock, I don't feel nor see any fire? AA
