re gelatin in peanuts

Dear Rabbi, That`s very surprising. I have a jar of Planters Dry Roated peanuts with a K. Ingredients peanuts and salt. I have never seen gelatin listed as such (doesn`t mean it doesn`t exist). I can`t imagine what purpose gelatin would serve in this product. Can you? Bon appetit, Martin
