RE: Gerama

Question

Regarding Alex's post on Gerama, could you please clarify what you (Aaron) meant when you said "You are right. Don't think into it further. It is exactly as you said it?" You've said many times on the forum that we're allowed to do a melacha in certain situations via a grama on Shabbos and Yom Tov (e.g. adjusting a non-digital timer in a way where it won't turn on or off the device in question instantly). And I believe your father shlita said in that audio shiur on the net that it wasn't a problem to do a gerama on Shabbos and Yom Tov. Plus with the fridge, unlike any other gerama, we don't often know when the fridge will come on or off when we open or shut the door. Sometimes the motor comes on/off when we open/shut it and sometimes it doesn't. I simply want a clarification on what you meant in your reply to Alex since you've said many times that a gerama wasn't a problem in certain situations. Oh when you have a chance, you might want to share with the forum the findings on Hebrew National that you shared with me. Thanks as always.
