Answered by Aaron AbadiBoth the Ariza"l and the Gr"a would agree that it is better to pray after sunset than worry about Kiddush before Arbit/Ma'ariv. It's very simple and clear. You don't need to be a rocket-scientist... AA PS Who is this Rabbi you mentioned above?
