Does that mean that those "special for the Three weeks/Sefirah " A capella ( no instruments just singing) is actually totally assur for those time periods?

Answered by Aaron AbadiThe whole concept is bogus! All year it is not permitted, both singing and/or music. Classical music or Yanni and the like is OK, except on Tishah BeAv. If someone is in need of a boost or just a little under the weather, put on that music. In the car with kids on your head... Use your judgement, you get the idea. But to say that it is Assur during Sefira & the 3 weeks, except for A Capella, that is Megaleh Panim Batorah Sheloh Kehalacha! (Loosely transalated as pure Baloney!) AA
