I just came across your website by chance so I'm not really sure who you are or if this will interest you. But with regard to this post: http://www.kashrut.org/forum/viewpost.asp?mid=4160 The London Beth Din have recently said Smirnoff Ice is not kosher(I couldn't tell you why), see: http://www.kosher.org.uk/updates.htm (- its towards the end of the page). I realise that: a) It might be made differently in the States. b) You might disagree with them. But in case you are interested you might want to contact them and look into it. Zvi

It says "not kosher," but it means, we didn't get the account. The line above says herbs and spices. Since when is that an issue?! Till a few decades ago all the herbs and spices were bought loose without a package and without a hashgachah. Ignore that website. AA PS: I sent the following email to them.... Let's see their response. Dear people, Aren't you misleading the people by saying certain items are "not kosher," when all you mean is that they do not have your certification? Since when do spices need certification, anyway? What about drinks like coca-cola and Smirnoff ice, what could be in it that would be a question? Why are we creating a new set of criteria to Kashrut that didn't exist at all in previous generations? Aaron Abadi
