Question
no one is projecting feelings in place of halacha, you seem to forget that we are a KLAL not individuals, and we must accept one another, within the confines of Halacha! If it is truly permissable to listen to music on shabbat, then so be it, Judaism is progressive, the Torah is timeless, not stuck in Europe. We all must accept the differences we all have and the fact that we are all striving to remain halachic jews. Will your son marry my daughter who swims in the pool on shabbat? will my son marry your daughter who set a timer to listen to classical music on shabbat? I have not always been religous and when I hear some of the crazyness that comes from "Frum Yidden" I cringe and even sometimes ask myself "What have I done?" Chilul Hashem is not just how we act towards Goyim , its also how we act in front of Hashem as well. As far as your comment "Ultimately, that is why we have a system of law and it is not left up to how we feel." Last time I checked it said "Ivdu Hashem B'simcha" there is more emphasis on how we should feel when we do practice our law..... they are hand in hand, one should feel healthy and normal and right when practicing Hashems Torah. Nothing personal, just how I feel. Thanks
