Sabbath mode oven

Question

Dear Rabbi: I'm not clear on your last answer to me. When you say"put food in while the oven is still off" do you mean before Shabbat or on Shabbat when the heating element is off? In my original question I meant can you put food in the oven on Shabbat , for example, during the day for lunch? Thanks for clarifying.
