San -J Tamari - for Adar

Unfortunately, due to a severe health problem in the family, I have had to learn a lot about food ingredients and by accident, kashrut. I called San-J and they assured me that the alcohol in the Wheat Free Tamari is ABSOLUTELY corn based. Corn is considered a grain in America, although as Jews we do not consider it to be one. Make no "bones" about it, there are many, many people out there who suffer terribly from illnesses that are greatly exacerbated by the ingestion of certain food substances, and the FDA has very very strict requirements regarding the labeling of products which might possibly contain such substances, even in the most minute parts. They are correct to insist on this and prosecute when appropriate. A company that claims its product to be wheat free, dairy free, or gluten free would most certainly be sued into oblivion for the slightest infraction. For example, why do you think that the Rice Dream company needs to disclose that the product MIGHT contain up to 1 part in 50,000 of barley protein? For your house to be that "Pesachdik" you would have to be operating under Class 20 Semi conductor clean room manufacturing conditions. (think white space suit, Laminaire Flow Hood, decontamination chambers). Thank you again Rabbi Abadi for all you do!!!
