sausage casings

Question

Dear Rav, Can you confirm something that I had read a few years ago, that most, if not all, casings for kosher sausages and salamis and similar products, are made from non-edible parts of non-kosher animals? Thanks, Martin

Who knows what they're talking about?! Don't accept a new rumor until there's some clear proof on the table. AA
