Bichavod harav, The torah tells us that whie we learn we should ask questions like an apikores so here I go. Wasn't there a time in history where the rabanan thought the world was flat and that the sun recolves around the earth. Hasn't scienxe dissproved that theory. Thank you and have a good shobass

Answered by Aaron AbadiTalmud Yerushalmi said the world is round. The Mishnah in Avoda Zara Perek 3 is based on that, too. Look at Tosafot A"Z 41A "KeKadur." There are a lot more things on this. Some of the Gemaras that those Apikorsim quote have much deeper meaning, and completely don't relate to the meaning you see. It says that Adam Harishon reached from one end of the world to the other. Could that be possible? He laid down to sleep and his feet dangled off the edge. Some things are Kabbalah, others are Meshalim, and the rest is at face value. Those Apikorsim like to take the little bit they learn and fit it into their predetermined opinion. We learn the Torah and then form the opinion. Someone else just complained that I said to listen to the doctor, so I go against the Torah. The Torah says to listen to the doctor. The Torah says the Teva (nature) changes. The less Torah these Apikorsim study, the more stupidity comes out of their mouths. AA
