Secular Zionism

Before you condem the secular nature of modern zionism, dear friends, please recall the moshal given by Rav Chiya in the Talmud. He tells the story of a king who wanted his children with him - even though they were evil, even though they were viscious, even though they were cruel. They were still his children and the king wanted them near. He still wanted them in the palace with him Says Rav Chiya, the King of Kings is no different. Though we may be secular, though we may not keep shabbos perfectly, though we may not cover our hair, we are the King of Kings children and He wants us near, He wants us in the palace. And the palace is Israel. God perfers a small group in Israel, to a Sanhedrin in chutz l'aaretz. It is better to live among goyim in the Land, then among Jews outside of the land. These are the words of the Talmud. Said my rebbe, the man who condems modern Israel b/ it's government is secular and because its people are irreligious is a man caught in the grips of the Sitra Achar. Living in Israel is k'neged hakol.
