selling chametz

Question

i am under the impression that the heter to sell chametz only applies if there will be a significant financial loss (ie expensive scotch). is it also ok to sell non-expensive chametz such as pasta, barbegue sauce with startch, crackers etc? or is it preferable to give this chametz to a non-jew? thanks

It's not easy to sell it properly. What if the non-jew walks into your house to get his stuff? You'll call the police. It's absurd how crazy we get on the things we don't need to do, but the selling of Chametz, which if not done properly is a grave sin, we're lax with that?! Strange! AA
