Shabbos Candles

Question

What is the halacha if my wife forgot to light candles one shabbos? This occurred due to early shabbos; I went to shul before my wife lit, and she was subsequently distracted with the kids needs and didn't remember to light until I came home from shul. At that point it was already 10 minutes after shkiya.

There is nothing to do now. For the future, she should always make sure to light at candle lighting time (18 minutes before Shkiya), unless you come home before that. Then she can light before Kiddush. She is not required to be mekabel Shabbos (light candles) when you go to Shul for the early Shabbos Minyan. CYA
