Shadim
Question
Kavod Harav: I read in Berachot 6a that when one spreads sifted ashes on the floor at nighttime in their bedroom, one can see the feet of the mazikin (chicken footprints) in the morning. Is this folklore or a metaphor for something else deeper? I also know that Rashi (or one of the commentators) there says that if you don't bother the mazikin, they don't bother you. Answer
Answered by Aaron AbadiIt's specific ashes from a specific animal. Don't try it. Nothing is folklore. AA
