shaving on Log B'Omer
Question
I've got a few questions about shaving in general and about the omer specificly. I've been told that you can shave on Log B'Omer, can you shave on the days after Log B'Omer? Also what does your father say about shaving? I need to look neat and tidy for work, growing a beard/mustache is allowed but they want it to look well trimmed. I have explained to my boss that I would not be shaving for 33 days for religious reasons. (As a side note: I made a vow to not shave this year, for the first time, for personal reasons.) When I start to shave, can I use a razor or must I use an electric razor. I've been taught that we are not allowed to shave the corners of face, but my head is round, what is meant by the corners. Do they mean the jaw line or the area around ears where the peyots grow from? Thanks for your help
Answer
Answered by Aaron AbadiYou can Shave on Lag BaOmer; You should shave for work & for general cleanliness. Rav Aaron Kotler was very strict with his students not to let them grow a beard until it was absolutely necessary. Use an electric shavor like a Norelco Triple Header. AA
